This is a great story to read. It has a full historical and rhetorical meaning, to understand the actual meaning, then you must read the book. It is a fantastic read. The over arching theme of this book would have to be dramatic irony. The act of someone see's something going on, but the person doing the actions does not know that the person is there watching. Mark Twain used imagery very well and he was extremely helpful in describing the feelings that Tom Sawyer had. What i didn't like about this book is what i had the most problem with was the vernacular used. I know it was written awhile ago, but he used too much of that time period lingo.
