Readers will not find any data or statistics per se. What they will find is information on how and where to find data and statistics on a wide range of economic, social and legal issues related to gender equality. Demographics, housing and wealth, family status and living arrangements, paid and unpaid work, income, health and well-being, and violence and the justice system are among the many topics covered in this Guide. Given the diversity among women in Canada, readers will find information as to the existing data sources on Aboriginal women, immigrant women, visible minority women, and women with disabilities. For other groups of women, including lesbians, no national statistical data are available at present. |
