About the author (2008)

Douglas Blankenship has traveled the world and has viewed the world through the eyes of diverse cultures and different geographical and social settings.  He has seen how humor varies. The English love to joke about the French and vice-versa. No matter where you go there always seems to be funny stories about some group that may have had a historical, social, economic or geographical difference.

There seems to be a universal need to laugh at our shortcomings in life or those of our neighbors. Some cultures laugh about small things, some large things, some about ethnic characteristics, social distinctions, choice of food and how it reacts on our physical systems or the type of clothing that is prototypical to a certain group of people. We often laugh about these differences that dichotomize each socio-cultural-economic grouping.
