This was Lescroart's first book and reads like it. My gut reaction was that he was rewriting The Sun Also Rises and attempting to be as Hemmingwayesque as possible. Thank heaven he moved on to his own genre and way of writing. I appreciate the Hardy novels much more now. Read full review
