James P. Dandy and Dodee Swisher are in the soup again when they come to an Elderhostel cooking class in Baltimore, Maryland. Several of the local chefs are dying in rather peculiar manners: one, an expert on mushrooms, dies from eating poisoned ones; another, well aware of her intolerance for peanuts, dies of anaphylactic shock. A third death of a wheel-chair-bound Elderhosteler who'd stolen a bottle of salad dressing, make Jim and Dodee think these deaths are not accidental at all -- murder is flavoring the class -- and the reason just might have to do with which chef gets the starring role in a local-about-to-go-national cooking show called "A Dash of Thyme".

About the author (1999)

Peter Abresch travels extensively with the Elderhostel program, providing much inspiration for his popular mystery series featuring James P. Dandy. This is his fifth story in the series and follows his novella in the DEADLY MORSELS (4/03) anthology. He lives in Maryland.
