Évaluation du Potentiel D'intrusion Au Niveau des Joints D'étanchéité des Conduites Plastiques en PVC
École polytechnique, 2006 - 108 pages
Nevertheless, it is important to underline that the real potential of intrusion at the level of gasket joints could be more important than that was observed during this study. In fact, our testing was completed with new pipes in laboratory conditions which are quasi ideal. A number of factors were not evaluated in this study. These are, for example, the joining method of the pipes on building sites, the ageing of the pipes and the joints, the physical and chemical properties of the ground and the water, as well as the temperature of the surrounding ground and the water. These parameters constitute factors which influence the mechanical and functional characteristics of the pipes as well as those of the gasket joints. Therefore, they could influence the degradation of elements, therefore increasing the actual risk of intrusion at the level of the gasket joint.
