About the author (2007)

Joe Provey is the former chief editor of Family Handyman, Mechanix Illustrated/Home Mechanix, and Practical Homeowner magazines. He has authored several home improvement books, including the Creative Homeonwer titles "Better Lawns" and "Design Ideas for Flooring," as well as many articles for national home and garden magazines. Provey began his career as a carpenter and now lives in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
