About the author (2009)

Evon LaRiese-Davis is an everyday woman, just like you. When she was in her late forties, she became aware of how tired she looked (and felt) and how out-of-shape her body had become. Poor eating habits and the lack of physical activity had led to weight gain. Over the years, she had managed to pack on an extra forty pounds of flab. Then, one day she said, “No more!” She decided to grab the flab by the love handles and embarked upon a quest to regain control of her body. As a result, she founded SarahAlexanderFitness.com, an online portal for the woman who wants to be “fit after 40 and fabulous after 50”. Evon is committed to helping women meet their goals through a realistic plan that will help them achieve maximum well-being in their lives. Her philosophy is simple: “By eating the right foods, increasing cardiovascular activity, and building muscle, you will burn fat.” Evon participated in her first half-marathon at the age of 53. She resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
