The novel 1968 is based on events spanning the 1950's, 60's and the year 2000. The fictitonal main character Mike Harris is a physician living just outside of Tampa Florida in a bedroom community named Temple Terrace. The story examines a terrible secret that the doctor has hid from his family, including his wife and his best friend, psychiatrist Rich King since 1968 when he served in the Peace Corps while his twin brother Doug Harris served in the United States Marines at an outpost by the name of Khe Sahn. The places are real along with many of the people and events, but the story is fiction.
