What better Christmas gift than a beautiful handmade quilt-and here are all the creative ideas any quiltmaker needs to stitch the yuletide bright. More than 300 patterns, all shown in colorful photos, feature holiday symbols from children's toys to winter wonderlands to whimsical contemporary looks. Use them in one of the complete quilts, such as the Jingle Bells design, formed from blocks featuring angels, Father Christmas, a snowman, a fat tree, a star wreath, and a child dashing through the snow. Or showcase a block all on its own, perhaps pinning it up on a bulletin board or sewing it onto a pillow to make a pretty pocket. Color shots of finished quilt blocks come with instructions for making them, including tips on using different colors effectively and creating nostalgic moods with the patterns.

As mentioned several times, the patterns are very primitive. Since that's what I was looking for, I love the book. Used two of the blocks to make a Christmas stocking for my niece - http://jenniferhoel.wordpress.com/2006/12/21/country-quilt-stocking/. Found the instructions and patterns clear and accurate.
