A Basic Dictionary of Synonyms and Antonyms

Front Cover
Orient Paperbacks, 1983 - English language - 397 pages

A dictionary as well as a thesaurus, and a much simplified one at that! It gives you all the basic words used in the English language, their chief meanings, all important synonyms and antonyms where needed. To make the meaning of each entry clear, it uses the words in a sentence and where the secondary meanings are considerably different from the first, uses it in two or more sentences. Much larger dictionaries and synonym books are available, but they often confuse the reader by providing long lists of complicated, often rare words, and other technicalities. This book is much more useful, and used with good judgment, should yield excellent results

I found this book at an old bookstore near my house.
This book is very useful for my study. Every word is well-organized
and easy to understand.

This one has been kicking around forever... very limited I'd say, in the choices for each entry. Read full review
