A Christ of the Ice-floes
These poems represent the best of David Wevill's work over three years, and they show his concern with the moods and forces that shape life and destroy it. Silence, restlessness, growth, exploration, childhood events, birds, animals, the search for lost or new roots and for a way forward, are some of his themes. The poems inhabit and cross different landscapes, climates, times and seasons, although the sense is chiefly of winter.
