Things aren't going well for 16 year old Malcolm. Many of his family members are either in jail or wanted by the police; his father is missing; the police are out to get him and someone is trying to kill him. On top of all that he has an upcoming drivers test to worry about. Things turn for the better when he intervenes as a group of school yard bullies attempt to pick on two of his classmates. Laura and her cousin Tracy become fast friends with their new hero. He and the girls are joined by Scott, a young man recently returned from the war in the Middle East. Together they set out to prove the innocence of Malcolm's missing father who is accused of theft and murder. In the process they uncover one of the City of Parkfield's dirty little secrets. If you are looking for a story the whole family can enjoy; look no further.
