About the author (2010)

This Joan Howard's first attempt at writing. She has always wanted to travel and has led her heroine to experience the adventures that she never had. Joan and her husband, Bob, were both born in New Orleans and raised their family there. Her early interest in sports won her several awards. Later she pursued crafts, then had quite a degree of success with her watercolor paintings after they made their move to Kiln, Mississippi, where she also does some wonderful gardening. The couple survived the near total loss of their home in Hurricane Katrina and the lengthy, terribly frustrating task of restoring it and their lives. In spite of such setbacks, Joan remains creative, which now manifests itself in her writing.
