About the author (1989)

Mary Trewby has worked as a bookseller, book editor and journalist. She spent eleven years based in London, working in book publishing as an editor and writer, and on magazines. She has edited and contributed to many books on history, art history, architecture, interior design and travel, and is a prolific author as well. Her most recent work has focused on natural history. Needless to say she is also a cat lover! Mary currently lives and works in Dunedin, New Zealand.
