About the author (2011)

Bill and Lee moved to the U.S. Virgin Islands in 1994 from Southern California, where Bill was an Aerospace Engineer with Hughes Aircraft Company. He saw that the education here left something to be desired, and loving math, wanted to teach it. He taught as a volunteer for six years in the local elementary school. Not liking the Government issued math books, he used his own notes, methods, quizzes and tests. He mainly taught fourth through sixth grades. Lee suggested that he write his own book using his own methods. He decided to do it, and was about half way done when he passed away in 2008. One of Bill’s former students won the Bill Morris Scholarship Fund and is now a Junior at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He and his younger brother entered a Math Counts competition a few years ago and WON! Malik said that they won because Bill taught them their math!! I hope this will help all those children who are struggling to understand math. I think that it will help them – wherever they are, throughout the world.
