About the author (2010)

Alfred Langer was born in 1940 in Germany's Sudetenland. In 1946, his family, along with millions of other ethnic Germans, was forcefully driven out of their homeland and settled in West Germany, where he grew up. At age 21, he immigrated to the United States where he operated a Tool and Die Company for 46 years. He is married, became a US citizen and served in the California National Guard. After retiring in 2007, he began writing his book "A NEW BEGINNING" 'The Compelling True Story of One Man's Journey Against Overwhelming Odds', that has been published since April 2010.
