During his life, Thomas Kinkadereceived numerous national awards for his works, including multiple National Association of Limited Edition Dealers awards for Artist of the Year and Graphic Artist of the Year. Known as "the Painter of Light," Kinkade was able to recreate dramatic effects of pictorial lighting in a way that made the images seem to glow from within.
