A beautifully crafted story of the quest for love amid the hollow glamour of the fashion business.

"A brilliant novel by a writer whose moral vision will surely ensure his place in the world of literature" -- Shyam Selvadurai, author, Funny Boy

Warden Fields, an ingenuous college student from Toronto, is spotted by an Italian model agency and persuaded to work in Europe. He starts to discover the love and affection he desperately seeks, but the glamorous and frenetic world of the fashion houses in Milan and London makes it hard to maintain a relationship. Warden's boyfriend in Italy is drafted into the army, while the adventures his English lover draws him into lead Warden into breaking the law. Sensitive and subtle, this fine new novel weaves together tragic and comic themes into a moving and delightful human story.
