The book is a compilation of letters to the author Brian Aherne. They were mostly written by BENITA HUME, George Sanders' wife. Some are written by George. Both are witty and literate observers of the late 50's and 60's. There is gossip about the who's who of Hollywood (mostly British actors.) There is also a lot of info about George Sanders' financial shenanigans that must have been very notorious at the time. I really enjoyed the book. It was like reading a very literate gossip column.
