About the author (1988)

Despite storms, erosion, and some neglect, the Georgia lights have saved countless sailors, helped to establish commerce and trade, and protected the coast. This book explores Georgias maritime history through its remaining lighthouses and depicts these mighty sentinels of the sea. Author Patricia Morris is the executive director of the Coastal Georgia Historical Society and the St. Simons Lighthouse Museum.
