About the author (1996)

Leslie Baker set out to create an alphabet book that was appealing in both its direct approach and portable size--just right for preschoolers learning their ABCs. Ms. Baker is the illustrator of many books for young children, including "Our Old House," which was named a Notable Social Studies Trade Book for Young People and a CBC Best Children's Book of the Year. She lives with her family on Martha's Vineyard.
