About the author (1990)

Brooke is the author of several acclaimed novels and story collections that give new twists to old tales.

Richard Egielski received the Caldecott Medal for his illustrations in "Hey, Al", written with Arthur Yorinks. His other books include "Buz "and "Jazper", which were chosen as New York Times Best Illustrated Books for Children. He lives in New Jersey with his wife and son.
