Presents selected poems by Juan Larrea in Spanish and French, in verse and prose, with facing English translations and includes an introduction by the author, who knew the poet personally. Juan Larrea was a surrealist poet and an influential pioneer in the Hispanic vanguard of the 1920s and 1930s. Much of his poetry, by his own choice, went unpublished until 1969. Since then his work has achieved increasing recognition and praise in the Spanish-speaking world.
