Fabulous book! I haven't found any American names that are not in this book in some form. VERY thoroughly researched, showing all forms of the name through time and different languages and cross references masculine and feminine versions of the name. This is one of the most frequently referenced books in my family home. It is fun to read even when there are no babies around needing to be named. Scholarly and fascinating, giving examples of famous people in history who have had that first or last name, giving cultural context.
