I have been looking for a book just like this for my non-academic multi-level writing class. Besides basic literacy review (not enough to teach from), there are all kinds of practical exercises--cards, notes, envelopes, forms, recipes. This is a great idea book and has good cultural background (for those with the reading/vocabulary background).
