Copied from Original Wills and Inventories. The work contains abstracts of many of the earliest wills of Kentucky during the period 1780 to 1840, taken from the records of thirty-eight counties. The book is arranged by county, with each county having its own index, supplemented by a surname index at the end of the book, which lists all individuals mentioned throughout the work. The abstracted information includes the dates of the instrument and probate, names of wife and children, and names of witnesses.
