About the author (2002)

Jill Baker was born and brought up in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) where she was Zimbabwean Personaility of the Year 1980. During the civil war she ran an inter-racial reconciliation group. She left Zimbabwe and emigrated to Australia where she now lives and works. She was awarded the Australian order of merit for helping to re-settle refuges and Zimbabwean families.
