About the author (1986)

Chung earned his black belt degree at the age of 15, and is known for introducing contemporary musical forms to martial arts. He was three time the grand champion at the Battle of Atlanta, three times LAMA Nations grand champion in Chicago, twice Mid-American Diamond Nationals grand champion, U.S. Open grand champion, PKA Nationals grand champion and more. He runs his martial arts center, America's Best, in Los Gatos, California, with his partner Cynthia Rothrock.

Rothrock has captured more championships than any woman in history. In 1982, 1983, and 1984 she went undefeated in every national event she entered in women's forms, winning either first place, or grand champion. She was rated number one by KARATE ILLUSTRATED four times, and became the only woman ever to capture the title of number one in weapons. In 1983 she was inducted into the Black Belt Hall of Fame. Currently, she devogtes her full attention to a successful martial arts school as well as a blossoming acting career.
