About the author (2000)

Thompson is a Professor and Chairman of the Division of Urology at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio, San Antonio, Texas. He received his undergraduate training at the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY, and his medical training at Tulane University. He completed his residency in urology at Brooke Army Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in urologic oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio, he served as Chairman of Urology and then Surgery at Brooke Army Medical Center.
