About the author (2003)

Shelley Gill has written many books for students about Alaska with coauthor Shannon Cartwright, including Kiana s Iditarod, Mammoth Magic, Alaska Mother Goose, and Thunderfeet (Four Paws Press). She lives in Homer and was the fifth woman to compete in the Iditarod Sled Dog race. This is her first book with Scholastic Professional Books.
