Blish was a great idea writer; Star Trek was driven by character interaction. The results are pretty sad; interesting ideas that fall flat because the reader is expecting the witty repartee and interaction of the original TV show, which Blish was hopelessly unprepared to write. Read full review

I read this book once many, many years ago and did not like it so I did not read it again though I did keep it. I had liked his episode adaptions. I also had liked his other books such as the Cities In Flight series. Read full review
