Axel Crieger is a young self-taught German Photographer whose strong graphic images & unusual lighting have won him numerous prizes as well as international recognition in many publications. "American Night" is his first major work in black & white, a medium appropriate to enhance his sophisticated style & lighting techniques. Shot in the California Mojave Desert, "American Night" delicately explores the character studies of eight high profile fashion subjects & the beauty of human form. The title refers to a "Day for Night" technique that he uses in many of his pictures. The first edition of "American Night" has been magnificently reproduced in duotone by O.R.T. Berlin. The book has been printed & bound by Passavia in the Federal Republic of Germany for Seven Wolves Publishing in Los Angeles. "American Night" is a coffee table must for all art & photography enthusiasts.
