About the author (2010)

Amy's Moon was written by nine-year-old Amy Middlebrook, who has been writing stories since she was five years old. Amy's complaint about the lack of books for young children that are about the moon encouraged her to write her own book! Writing is a good escape for Amy Middlebrook, because sometimes it's hard for her to verbally communicate. Amy has a hearing dysfunction and finds that writing helps her make sense of the world. She lives in the UK and has written several other stories about her dogs and cats, as well as her next book about learning how to count. One day Amy would like to set up her own animal rescue centre. She believes that with a good imagination, you can do anything.
