An Account of the Transformation of the Digital Font of Xenotype Cherokee Into Hot Metal Type: Making Letterpress Printing with Hand Set Movable Cherokee Type Possible for the First Time in Over One Hundred and Ninety Years
"Frank Brannon of Speakeasy Press has spearheaded the revival of metal Cherokee type by enlisting Swamp Press to engrave new matrices based on Xenotype's digital font. Negatives of the type were used to make patterns for the ATF Benton pantograph. Matrices were engraved, fitted and faced, then type was cast on a Monotype Thompson caster in 14, 18, 24 and 36 point.
