An outstanding and exceptional text from a dedicated learned personality. This book, picked up on a casual lookup in the bookshop, turned out to be exactly what the preface claims to be - it more than fills the gap between the heavily referenced, evidence-based tomes and the sketchy handbooks. There is a remarkable perception of the need of the anaesthesiologist / resident when being first handed a case for cardiac surgery...there are evidence based conepts backed up with very practical tips on specific case management. Lucid and easy reading, yet handles heavy concepts with dexterity. The chapter on Interpretation of Cardiac Catheterization gives a comprehensive practical evaluation of catheterization data with clinical correlation. A Discerning book from a good teacher.
