Exhaustive and copiously illustrated, this fundamental account of Armando Villegas’ work—from pictures and oil paintings to sculptures, murals, and collages—is the most complete compilation of his art. Recognized as one of the first abstract artists of the continent, his figurative work displays an unmistakable fondness for the pre-Colombian traditions of his native Peru, but his breadth of artistic mediums impedes defining him by a single form of expression, technique, or theme. Additionally, critiques from his different artistic periods are included.
