One fantastic book. The author obviously knows his subject. He should as he is probably the best armor writer today. The author makes the point that the US Army didn't demand the best tank but enough of the tanks that were good enough. His tactical assessments are correct and are in line with everything we learned in my 20 plus years in armor units. The puctures alone would be enough to give this five stars, but don't let that distract you from the terrific text. It is really a history, from the technical and tactical point of view of the entire US armored development in WW2. The difference between the. " foot and hoof " Wehrmacht and the power of the first truly industrial army is hammered home. This book is a MUST HAVE, in my opinion, for any armor enthusiast.
