Athletes of Purpose
Here are 50 athletes of purpose whose stories will inspire children and provide the kind of real-life models they need. These athletes of purpose come from diverse backgrounds, from different parts of the world, from our recent past and living present, and all have two traits in common: they set goals and made sacrifices to attain them. Their stories challenge students to consider their own character and potential. Each biography is followed by activities in reading and social studies that promote critical thinking and writing.
