About the author (2011)

Andrew Davies was born in Cardiff in 1936 and lives in Kenilworth, Warwickshire. He is married, with two grown-up children, and five years ago he resigned from his teaching job at Warwick University to write full time.
His play, Rose, starring Glenda Jackson, played to full houses at the Duke of York's theatre and was subsequently produced on Broadway and in many other countries; and Prin, starring Shelia Hancock, was staged in 1989 to great acclaim. He has won numerous awards for his work on television, including the Writer's Award of the Royal Television Society for A Very Peculiar Practice and the 1989 BAFTA Writer's Award.
His previous works of fiction include Getting Hurt and Dirty Faxes.
