About the author (2012)

Anna Fox has worked in photography for thirty years. Influenced by British documentary tradition and US 'New Colourists', her first work, Workstations (Camerawork, London 1988), observed London office culture in the mid-Thatcher years. Her later work, Friendly Fire, was exhibited in the exhibition Warworks at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Fox's solo shows have been seen at The Photographer's Gallery, London, The Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago and her work has been included in numerous international group shows, such as Through the Looking Glass and Documentary Dilemmas. She is professor of photography at the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham, UK.

Natasha Caruana is a practising artist, lecturer of photography and founding director of the London-based Studio Strike artists' studios. She graduated with an MA in photography at the Royal College of Art in 2008 and is currently a lecturer of photography at the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham, UK. Her work has been exhibited internationally in the US, Poland, Germany and Saudi Arabia, and is held in the collections of the British Library and the Women's Institute in London, and the Kinsey Institute in Indiana, US.
