About the author (2000)

Karen Wallace is the author of more than one hundred books for children, and the winner of several book awards. She was born in Canada and grew up in a log cabin in the woods of Quebec. She has also lived in France and Ireland, and has worked making pizzas, and singing in a cabaret and a bluegrass band. Writing is her favorite activity. Wallace says she has spent most of her life making up stories.
