About the author (1999)

Mary Hoffman has written more than sixty books for children. Her 1992 bestseller, "Amazing Grace," was a Reading Rainbow Feature selection and a Book-of-the-Month Club selection. Born in England, Mary Hoffman lives in London with her husband and three daughters.
Jan Ormerod has illustrated more than thirty best-selling children's books, including "Moonlight," "101 Things to Do with a Baby," and "Eat Up, Gemma," Her first picture book, "Sunshine," was an ALA Notable Book. Ms. Ormerod grew up in Australia, but now lives in England with her two daughters.
