Black Man of the Nile and His Family, first published in 1972, is Dr. Ben's best known work. It captures much of the substance of his early research on ancient Africa. In a masterful and unique manner, Dr. Ben uses Black Man of the Nile to challenge and expose "Europeanized" African History. He points up the distortion after distortion made in the long record of African contributions to world civilization. Once exposed he attcks these distortions with a vengence, providing a spellbinding corrective lesson in our story.

Having travelled with Yosef Ben-Jochannan PhD., I have seen first hand, that which he writes about, in this book. Quite a bit of what was considered distorted and discounted by the established historian of the 20th century, has now been documented as valid, in other historical writings. For example, it is now accepted fact that all peoples on the planet earth Originate from the continent of " Africa," that Hebrew slaves did not build the pyramids of " Egypt," and that the pyramids were built out of, granite stone not mud dried bricks. Dr. Ben, who himself is a descendant of Ethiopian Jews, exposes little known facts that have been rewritten in World History, as a one sided European historical view; a view that often leaves out the contributions and original historical data of other aboriginal peoples. Anyone who reads this book and does some of the additional research, suggested by it's content will be richly rewarded with a clearer understanding of ancient world history. For readers who are truth seekers I suggest this book.

Does not make use of citations, references or footnotes. Unsuitable for academic use in research. Author cannot prove his assertions and does not source his statements.
In failing to provide the
necessary research literature, Mr Ben-Jochannan does not seriously refute biased viewpoints, only counters with his own unsourced narrative. This is the same sin his book is attempting to correct.
Unfortunately, the work qualifies in my book as a prime example of twenty-five cent scholarship. Sad really.
