It would seem that scrapbooking would have little to do with the classroom, but in the words of Thena Smith, retired teacher and author of several scrapbooking related books, "Bulletin boards are simply over-sized scrapbook pages!" 'BoardSmartz' was written to inspire educators to incorporate scrapbooking ideas into the classroom by creating boards that pop with educational pizzazz. 'Board' contains hundreds of classroom topics that will inspire you and your students of all ages with thought provoking displays. Students will love to learn as they read Thena's colorful and original poetry. Designed for the busy teacher to create great looking bulletin boards and children's projects quickly and easily. 'BoardSmartz' makes a great and useful gift for that special teacher.

About the author (2005)

I have always known, without a doubt, Just who I was, and what I was about?? I wanted to marry, a wonderful man, and have a child, to hold my hand. I wanted to write, the things deep in my heart, And to share God's love, I wanted to do my part. Mother. Wife. Poet. Author. Friend. Mentor. Anyone who has ever met Thena Smith (in person or cyberspace) understands that she has surpassed the childhood vision of her life's goals.

In 2003, Linda LaTourelle was boxing and shipping copies of her self-published compilation, The Ultimate Guide to the Perfect Word, from the guest room of her home in Mayfield, Kentucky. That was the birth of Bluegrass Publishing. Since then, Bluegrass Publishing has grown into one of the leading publishers of collections of original and traditional verses, quotes and sayings in the scrapbooking industry. The success of Word led to the publication of The Ultimate Guide to the Perfect Card in February, 2004. In July of that year, Linda made her debut at the Association of Crafts and Creative Industry's convention with The Ultimate Guide to Celebrating Kids. She has continued that trend by releasing the elementary school edition, The Ultimate Guide to Celebrating Kids Vol.2 and an expanded edition of The Ultimate Guide to the Perfect Card in the summer of 2005. In addition to her own writing, Linda continues to seek out and publish some talented writers, poets and artists in, and out of, the crafting world.
