About the author (2001)

The University of the Third Age is an international organisation dating from the early Seventies. In the UK, the U3A is a Self-Help movement for people no longer in full-time employment, providing educational, creative and leisure opportunities. The Hessle U3A was founded in 1990 and currently has about twenty Interest Groups. Lois Bridger has organised the Writers Group for most of that time. The group meet monthly and discuss one another's writing efforts in a gentle and friendly way. Lois has a background of teaching English and is affectionately known as Superman's Girlfriend.
