Lesley Wells, the scion of the prosperous East Coast fashion house, Wells of Fashion, has made a new life for herself in California as a successful designer. Then Darren Taylor, owner of Taylor Made Creations, makes plans to buy the company she works for. Six years earlier, when stolen fashion designs from his firm showed up as the new spring designs at Wells of Fashion, he accused Lesley of the theft; disgraced by the accusation and betrayal of her fianci, she fled to L.A. where she gave birth to Darren's child. When she learns that Darren will be the owner of the firm where she now works, she frantically tries to find a position at other fashion houses but Darren thwarts her every attempt with his connections in the industry. When Darren finds out that Lesley bore his child, he insists she return to Philadelphia to work for Taylor Made and to marry him.

About the author (2000)

Beverly Clark was given her first exposure to professional writing while working in the editorial department of the L.A. Herald Examiner. From there, she wrote fillers for the newspaper and magazines such as RedBook, Good Housekeeping, and McCall's. She also wrote 120 romantic short stories with Sterling/McFadden Magazines. Clark joined the RWA, and in order to gain more knowledge, attended creative writing classes and other related courses at Antelope Valley College, as well as classes and seminars at L.T.U. This talented writer, who once managed a second-hand bookstore, The Book Nook, for two years, has since completed eight full-length books. She currently works part-time for Walden Books and also helps a group called Friends of the Libraries, encouraging children and adults to read and enjoy books. Clark lives in the High Desert Community of Lancaster.
