Sparta is a beautiful mysterious woman with superhuman abilities. She investigates what happened to the Star Queen during its voyage to Venus Station which resulted in only one person surviving. For hard-core SF fans the blueprints at the back of the book should be especially interesting. Read full review

Paul Preuss is the author of 13 novels, including Secret Passages and the near-future thrillers Core and Starfire. His non-fiction has appeared in The Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, New York Newsday, and the San Francisco Chronicle. Besides writing, he has been a science consultant for several film companies.
