About the author (1999)

Dr. del Carmen is Distinguished Professor of Criminal Justice (Law) at Sam Houston State University. He has received various awards in Texas and nationally for teaching and research. He has written numerous articles and is the author of CRIMINAL PROCEDURE:LAW AND PRACTICE, Sixth Edition, and co-author of COMMUNITY BASED CORRECTIONS, Fifth Edition, also published by Wadsworth. Dr. del Carmen has traveled and lectured extensively throughout the United States and abroad and has served as consultant to juvenile justice agencies in many states.
