Burning Everest and Mariza's Story
In Burning Everest, Jim's inability to come to terms with being in a foster home leads him to escape into a world in which his fantasy of leading an expedition up Everest becomes dangerously real. In Mariza's story, a young Brazilian must cope with the violence and poverty of life on the streets after she is accidentally separated from her mother.
